SASSA War Veterans Grant 2024 – Detailed

SASSA War Veteran grant facilitates the citizens of South Africa who fought the Second World War (1939 – 1945) or the Korean War (1950 – 1953). In order to qualify for the mentioned grant, an eligibility criteria has been set up which is determined through a Means Test. It audits the applicant’s income, assets and other financial indicators.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicant must be 60 years old or more with a disability
  • Applicant must be a soldier who fought in second world war or the Korean war
  • The spouse of the applicant must meet the requirements of the Means Test.
  • The applicant must not be staying in a state funded institute or any under any other government supported place. 
  • Not earn more than R 86 280 if single or R172 560 if married.
  • Not have assets worth more than R 1 227 600 if single or R 2 455 200 if married.

The updated amount of SASSA War Veterans according to 1st April 2024 has been set to R2,200 per month for each person.

How to apply for SASSA War Veterans Grant

To apply for the SASSA War Veteran grant, submit your SASSA Online Application. Carefully follow all the steps. Once the application has been approved you will start getting payments every month.
