  • Get the application form and fill it completely by providing correct information, attach all the requisite documents, and hand over the concerned official of the SASSA.
  • Your application will be examined by the SASSA team, and they will visit your living place to verify your living standard.
  • Once the scrutiny process is completed, You will be informed about the status of your application through SMS or email provided by you in the application form. 
  • After 3-6 months, you can renew your status so that you can receive food parcels from SASSA regularly.

Eligibility Criteria for SASSA Food Parcels

The South African Social Security Agency has launched a food parcel program for the most deserving class of society in order to ensure that only eligible people can avail of this program. They have fixed a benchmark:

  • You should be a South African national with a national ID Card
  • You should have a registered phone number
  • Monthly salary should be less than 624 Rands. A low-income certificate is compulsory.
  • Anyone who is unemployed or disabled.
